Vielfrass

This word is definitely not a compliment. And you certainly don't want to hear it used to describe you when you're dining with German friends. It literally means glutton. Viel means "a lot" and Frass refers to "grub."

In German, Vielfrass can also mean a wolverine, a meat-eating animal of the Northern Hemisphere, which can consume a lot of food at one time. Uh oh!

So, go easy next time you're thinking of pigging out on that Schnitzel and sauerkraut.
